The new batch arrives on the 7th of July. What shall be done to welcome them?

Sheesh!

Look, semester classes for all batches but the incoming UGI, and the re-freshed PGI, begin on the seventh.

Classes begin earlier for the fresh batch as an anti-ragging measure.
This way, the freshers get used to the environment in the absence of the seasoned folk. And when the seasoned folk return, it won't be as easy for them to bully their way about.

The department may yet decide to begin fresher classes later.
And even if that may not be, we can still attend their classes.

I agree that this is a stupid idea. We started college with everyone else last year, and there was no bullying! Those who have to rag juniors, will do it anyway. Be it during the first week, or the second. Rolling Eyes

When has there not being classes prevented people from going to JUDE? Don't tell me you enterprising --- er, Ugh2s now --- are planning to start that as a new tradition. If you want to say hi to the first-years on their first day, go to college --- sorry, Lav, university --- and do so. Simple.
