Partly cuz most people don't really give a damn about both teams. (Before people start pointing out things I appeared to have said let me say that MOST people don't.) Also, it wasn't a great match. Liverpool were rather English while AC were rather clever and touched by that little bit of luck. Not much to write home about, eh?
What we could dicuss is Beckham getting a recall to the national team _________________ Step over. |

Exactly. Liverpool is the dinosaur of modern day football. Play football in the Champions League, play something in the Premier League. Its a joke to refer to Liverpool as one of the big four considering they haven't even come close to winning the league since it started. If one went by the word 'Champion'...they shouldn't even take part in the competition, let alone win it.
AC won...nothing spectacular. My highlight for the game was a moment of brilliance from Kaka when he steps past three players in style. I had a feeling AC would win...I think I told Az the same thing. Its almost fate in a way with the whole loophole getting them into the tournament in the first place.
Lax defending cost Liverpool on the night more than anything else. Take the second goal for example...why doesn't someone charge back to clear?
There was ample time to make the save and all they do is look at each other when the AC player goes through. It wasn't even offside. Lack of commitment perfectly demonstrated.
Arsenal - Real Madrid (2nd leg, Champions League Round of 16 2005-06, aggregate before match 1-0 to Arsenal)...end of game and no one has scored a goal. Casillas comes up to attack the corner in a last ditch attempt to draw the game. Instead the ball is cleared and lands at Robert Pires' feet...who shoots from well over 70 yards...shot is on target. Roberto Carlos sprints the entire distance and saves the ball from crossing the line...that my friend is dedication.
Btw, has anyone noticed something weird in the CL for the last 3 seasons at least one of the two finalists have lost the fulcrum of their squad at the beginning of the that particular season.
Liverpool lost Owen to Madrid...beat AC to lift the title.
Arsenal lost Vieira to Juve...lost to Barca.
AC lost Shevchenko to Chelsea...lost to Liverpool.
Who's being sold this time round? Too bad Bayern aren't in the CL next season...hehehe! |

Yeah, Sandy did say so. Which is why I couldn't bet this time. What a pity... _________________ Step over. |

i think it was a very lame tame final...but initially at least i thought liverpool was playing better...milan seemed kind of dazed...
i think they didn't charge back because they were sure it would be an offside...or were too lazy to bother...or both...
but even had they, it would have been difficult to prevent the goal _________________ My love flew like a butterfly

Goal keeper makes the biggest mistake of coming out too early and not getting a hand on the ball. But on the other hand he certainly buys his defenders just enough time to scoot back to make the clearance.

This is how its done...Arsenal vs. Ajax. Check out Kolo 'ki holo?' Toure! Maybe they'd have something to dance about at the end of it!
This was the one I was talking about...it would've been a phenomenal goal had it gone in.
